The Client’s Brief
To enable the introduction of a new branch.
Our Project
Required on site to stop the LTHW water flow with our pipe freezing services to allow others to carry out works.
Key Highlights of Services Included
Prior to attending the site, it was requested the client would isolate the boiler and pump 12 hours before our attendance.
Our works were to carry out four liquid nitrogen freezes during normal working hours. Two freezes on the LTHW 50mm flow, by using freeze jackets and attaching them to the pipework. Then filling the jackets with liquid nitrogen to stop the flow and isolate the area. We then repeated the same process on the return LTHW 50mm pipework flow.
When the four pipework freezes had taken hold, it was safe for others to carry out the necessary works to add a new branch.
Once the works by others had been completed, we then released the freezes and checked for any leaks.
We cleared the site of all redundant items upon completion of our work and disposed of the materials at a licensed refuse/recycling facility.
Result of Works
As it was decided to not drain down the whole system and use our pipe freezing services, there was minimal disruption to services.
In conclusion, the valve was ready to be used to connect onto the cold-water supply.
