Our Process: Safe and Efficient Pipe Freezing Services
Upon arrival, our engineers immediately removed the existing pipework insulation. With access secured, we prepared for the initial stage: liquid nitrogen pipe freezing.
We carried out 13 precision pipe freezes, on pipework sizes ranging from 80mm to 150mm. This enabled safe isolation of the boilers’ flow and return circuits without draining the entire system. Using pipe freezing jackets and liquid nitrogen, we achieved stable freezes on the critical flow circuits. This allowed the careful installation of new, high-specification isolation valves.
After verifying each freeze, we locally drained any surplus water into foul drains. This protected the surrounding plant room environment and ensured a clean, safe working area.
Valve Replacement: High-Quality Workmanship

Freezing and Replacing Return Pipework Valves
Following the successful flow side installation, attention turned to the return circuits. Here, we applied eight additional pipe freezes using the same reliable liquid nitrogen pipe freezing techniques. Once freezes were secured, surplus water was drained locally again to avoid any water damage. Our engineers stripped out the three existing 150mm return line gate valves and installed new blanked flanges onto the outlets. For added security and future maintenance ease, we installed a table E to PN16 block piece with a 50mm flushing connection, complete with PN16 fully lugged butterfly valves. Each new valve and connection underwent a careful leak check after releasing the freezes.
Site Clearance and Environmental Responsibility
Upon completing the installation and quality checks, our team cleared the site of all redundant materials. We disposed of them responsibly at a licensed recycling and refuse facility, aligning with best environmental practices. Note: Pipework insulation replacement was handled by a separate contractor following our project completion.
