On-site Pipeline Works
- Firstly, our engineers attended the site during normal working hours and gained plant room access.
- Inductions were completed and prepared the working area ready for hot tapping services to take place.
- Next, we isolated local smoke detection before starting work.
- For the work to begin, we removed existing insulation and cladding from the mains pipework.
Hot Tapping Services
- Our team adapted a 125mm pipe section with PN16 flange and TIG welded this onto the 200mm LTHW mains pipework.
- After welding, we attached a pump set and pressure tested the new weld – the weld held at 10 bar for 10 minutes.
Gate Valve Services
- Following on from this, we then fitted a 125mm gate valve onto the new outlet.
- After we installed the drilling rig, created a controlled aperture, and removed the pipe section.
- Finally, we closed the valve, painted the area, and reinstated insulation.
- Before completing the project, we cleared and recycled redundant materials
