Tower 42 is one of London’s most prestigious buildings, with complex pipework and limited access. Any disruption to the sprinkler system would have created significant risks for safety and building operations. CBRE required a solution that allowed safe pipe redirection without draining the entire system.
First, our Pipe Freezing Specialists identified two existing 4-inch sprinkler pipes for modification. Next, we applied liquid nitrogen to freeze the water inside both pipes, creating secure isolation points. This method allowed us to redirect the pipework without interrupting the wider sprinkler system. As a result, the building’s chiller now has easier access for servicing and future maintenance. Finally, the works were completed on time and fully achieved the client’s objectives.
Result
