Hot Taps Installed to Three Pipes

Hot Tapping Services Supplied
IDWe Ltd hot tapping team were asked to carry out two hot taps on the existing 80mm flow and return heating pipework. The system could not be turned off or isolated so the only way to connect an additional service to this was to carry out hot tapping.
Services Completed Included
The hot tapping was done by welding on a 25mm pipe socket to the live pipework on both flow and return. We then fitted a 25mm quarter turn valve to both the flow and return. Next using a hot tapping rig, we drilled the live pipes and using the quarter turn valve to isolate the water before removing the hot tapping rig.
Result
There was no loss of water or disruptions to their heating services. The project was completed within one day, resulting in a very happy customer.
